Thanks on Thanksgiving

This is a personal thanks to all of you who have done so much over the last few months. African Aids Angels is growing as an organization. We have new groups underway in Parksville, Qualicum, Chemainus, Pender Island, Comox, Sidney and others are exploring the possibility of starting up. These new groups have contributed almost $2000 in the last month.

In Victoria, volunteers are coming foward to help with the dozens of small, behind-the-scenes details that keep us running smoothly. Some are making wings at home. Some cut fabric. Some are working on organizing the sales and others are volunteering to sell. Many have begun putting hair on the angel bodies so they are ready for the dressings. Women from the Latter Day Saints have begun special groups to assist us in creating enough angels to supply us for the Christmas season.

There are angellers independently organizing fundraisers that will be of great benefit to us. A successful one was just held at the Stilt.

Each of our four projects requested $7000 worth of support for this year. We need to raise $30,000 to meet their needs. We are very close to reaching this goal, thanks to you.

An independent project appraiser recently visited African Angels in Malawi and was really impressed with the work they are doing with our support. Its wonderful to get this kind of feedback.

Many members talk about the great people they are meeting through African Aids Angels and I am always impressed with your generosity. Let's continue to make a difference with many small steps.

p.s. I'll be spending some time with my new red-haired grandson and may be slow to respond to enquiries. Be patient and imaginative!
